Athletic Training and Sports Medicine

Midland Orthopedic Associates offers Certified Athletic Training services at our Hometown office. Our trainer works with our physicians and physical therapists to monitor and provide athletic training and rehabilitation programs for our patients. Our athletic trainer in the clinic works both with athletes and non-athletes, designing programs for the prevention, treatment, and also conditioning following an injury. Our trainer provides services to Brother Rice High School to help prevent, diagnose, and provide immediate treatment for athletic injuries.

Our athletic trainer is in constant contact with and works under the supervision of one of our sports medicine physicians in order to maintain a team approach to the care and treatment of the injured athlete. He coordinates care with the athlete, parents, coaches, and physicians to assure a safe return to sports.

Sports Medicine

The physicians of Midland Orthopedic Associates offer non-surgical and surgical orthopedic care to active people regardless of their age or athletic skill level. Our goal is to return our patients to an active, healthy lifestyle. We apply the same care and techniques to our recreational athletes as we do to our high school, college, and professional athletes.

Our team approach includes fellowship-trained Primary Care and fellowship-trained Orthopedic Sports Medicine physicians as well as physical therapists and certified athletic trainers. We have served or are currently serving as team physicians for a number of local high schools including St. Ignatius, De La Salle, Hinsdale South, Bolingbrook, Brother Rice, Riverside-Brookfield, and Mother McAuley.

Athletics is an important part of the school experience for any education level, and we want to make sure that sports injuries do not get in the way of that. Our goal is to ensure that students can get back to the field or court as quickly as possible. We want to make sure they are really ready, too, as rushing back can lead to further injury and missed opportunities at school.
